Job Summary:
Ronbow Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Machine Technician to maintain and repair machinery used in the manufacturing process. The Machine Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring all equipment runs efficiently. This role requires a hands-on technician with a strong background in machinery, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on all machinery and equipment to prevent downtime and extend the life cycle of the machines.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues in manufacturing equipment. Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Machine Setup: Assist in setting up and calibrating machines for production runs to ensure they operate at optimum efficiency.
- Equipment Monitoring: Regularly monitor machine performance and report any anomalies to the Maintenance Supervisor. Recommend upgrades or replacements as necessary.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all machinery meets safety regulations and report any potential safety hazards. Participate in safety audits and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machine maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Log all work in the maintenance management system.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production staff and supervisors to understand operational needs and address equipment issues proactively.
- Training Support: Assist in training production staff on proper machine operation and basic troubleshooting techniques.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience as a Machine Technician or Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with CNC machines, PLC systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, or similar industrial machinery.
Technical Skills:
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring devices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical schematics.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks (bending, stooping, standing for long periods).
- Comfortable working in a noisy, high-temperature environment with heavy machinery.
Soft Skills:
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with framing or woodworking machinery is a plus.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Certification in electrical or mechanical systems or related fields.
